What we draw upon in building IdeaOverflow is the fact that the human ideation process can be understood as the process of responding to open gestalts. When our brains assemble an idea that has the capacity to close an open gestalt, we remember it as worthwhile. Our brains continuously hold many open gestalts. Thus, we have tensions bending ideas into shape in our minds all the time. One way an idea can be good on many layers is when it has the capacity to close many open gestalts, integrating information and cleverly responding to manifold and subtle constraints. IdeaOverflow can be helpful in creating such ideas as the following case study shows.
